Less is more
Last night, I had a discussion about music arrangement and approaches to songwriting. Everybody has their own styles and ways of doing it. Oftentimes, I would have the melody and music but no lyrics. But I have found that when I do write both concurrently, those almost always sound better. Or rather, I’d perform them better because I feel a stronger connection between the words and music.

I'm not perfect, and that's perfectly okay
I made a conscious decision long ago that I will not use any auto-tune on my vocals. If I’m badly out of tune, I’ll just sing the line again. Nowadays, music is saturated with it. Everyone uses it to make their vocals sound “perfect.” And it’s all too perfect if you ask me.
